Neighbourhood Vibe

North-central Oakville, bounded by Sixteen Mile Creek to the west, Dundas Street north, Trafalgar Road east and the Glen Abbey Golf Course along the south. Built with a new-urbanism sensibility — front porches and balconies, sidewalks and bike lanes, garages pushed to the rear wherever possible. Wooded ravines and interconnecting trails run through it, with a commercial pocket in the northwest corner.

Property Pulse

Developed through the 1990s and early 2000s on land that was farmland a generation earlier. The housing mix is unusually broad — single-detached and semi-detached homes, townhomes, and both low-rise and high-rise condominiums. Some pockets are denser and sit on narrower lots than elsewhere in Oakville, which is part of why the neighbourhood works for such a wide range of buyers.

Community Canvas

Strongly family-oriented, with about two thirds of households having children, alongside singles and downsizers drawn to the condominiums and townhomes. Ten public, seven Catholic and one private school serve the area, with French Immersion, International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement and Montessori programs among them — Sunningdale, White Oaks, St. Andrew and Holy Trinity among the names.

River Oaks Community Centre sits in the middle of the neighbourhood on Sixth Line with a twin-pad arena, fitness centre, squash and racquetball courts and rentable community rooms. Sixteen parks carry sixty-four recreational facilities between them, linked by trails along the creek. Oak Park Smart Centre and the Trafalgar Road plazas cover shopping, with the QEW, 403 and 407 all close.
